General Note
DVD summary : On the day the world Trade Center crumbled, 438 Afghan refugees were awash in a small boat off the coast of Australia, fleeing the persecution of the Taliban regime. They were rescued by the MV Tampa and became the centre of a world media maelstrom. Pacific Solution tells the story of their experience, the new home they found in New Zealand and follows the remarkable quest of their families to join them. Through the prism of their journey from exile in Iran and imprisonment on Nauru Island, this intimate documentary examines the political context and the looming refugee crisis facing our world. Credits: Producer, Annie Goldson ; director, James Frankham.
