Readings contents: Section one identifies a body of research that challenges assumptions that devolution in itself leads to improved educational outcomes. It references educator, academics, politicians and school principals and attempts to redress the imbalance in the current debate about devolution as a guaranteed strategy for reform. Section two draws together published items about Local Schools Local Decisions and the unanswered questions about these changes. Section three lists recent public comment and endorsements about the Gonski Review of School Funding. Section four focuses on the issues of quality teaching and the value of teachers' work. Section five includes comment on current educational issues, including comment on the public education system in Finland and the increasing gap in Australia between educational outcomes for top students and struggling students.
