Summary Note Among the findings of this report are: "The overall social mix based on family income differs significantly between government, Catholic and other nongovernment schools. Government schools have almost twice as many students from LOW income families as they have from HIGH income families, while other (non-Catholic) nongovernment schools reverse this, having twice as many students from HIGH income families as they have from LOW income families. Catholic schools have more students from HIGH income families than from LOW income families, and the largest proportion of students in Catholic schools are from MEDIUM income families. (Table A.1) These differences between the three sectors are more pronounced at the secondary level than at the primary level (Figures 1 and 2)." - p. 5.
