General Note
Jennie George was President of the New South Wales Teachers Federation between 1986 and 1989. She was also General Secretary of the Federation between the years 1980 to 1982.
Portrait was completed while Jennie George was the President of the ACTU in 1998 and was made from sketches used for an Archibald Prize entry.
Artwork is a collage incorporating mixed media including magazine cuttings, paint, crayon and fabric.
Amanda King is a portrait artist, documentary filmmaker and teacher. Her work has been shown in a number of national exhibitions and is represented in numerous collections including the National Portrait Gallery.
