Summary Note
"The specific aim of 'Inside the black box: ICT' is the betterment of ICT learning and teaching, so our ideas are put into the context of the aims and expectations of ICT education. We set out in detail four main ways of practising formative assessment in an ICT setting, outlining assessment techniques that encourage learners to bring their ideas to the fore. Using these methods, teachers are able to gauge what studenst already know, what they partly know and what they do not know, all the while assessing learners' analytical skills and how they approach a design task. Crucially, the ideas presented in this book are based on substantial evidence that the initiatives proposed actually can improve students' learning and achievements. Because effective formative assessment must be carefully planned, the authors also discuss how to formulate a plan to develop formative assessment work within an ICT department in a school." - Back cover.
