100 years : 100 motions
Federation has always been dedicated to the principles of representative democracy. Our highest decision-making body is Annual Conference, which meets to debate and vote on motions that determine the priorities and future actions of the union. Federation’s Annual Conference in 1919 had more than 100 motions to debate. To honour a century of Annual Conference debates and decisions, here are 100 motions — one from each year of our first 100 years, 1918-2017. Part of Unity! Strength! Justice! 100 years of the NSW Teachers Federation exhibition, held to commemorate the centenary of the foundation of the NSW Teachers Federation, 24.9.18 -17.10.18, 37 Reservoir Street, Surry Hills. The exhibition features stories of 100 years of activism, told through photographs, historical documents and campaign materials from the Federation's rich archival collections, plus a program of films, talks and events. Electronic resource available in library.
