Summary Note
The Public Accounts Committee reports that it has received a commitment from the Department of Education and Training that it would implement four initiatives proposed by the Auditor-General which it had originally rejected These concerned "the need for improved information on retirement intentions, more localised assessments of shortages, ...exit interviews for retiring teachers [and] the recommendation that TAFE NSW report annually to the Public Sector Workforce Office on critical areas of need." (p. 4).
