Summary Note
Research has demonstrated that there is a clear link between educational achievement and the socio-economic status of students' parents.The author notes that existing education funding policies, which result in funding not going to where it is most needed, do little to address this inequity, and that if Australia's most disadvantaged students are to realize their educational potential, then the Gonski reforms must be put in place.
