KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: The conference will include keynote speakers Jeffrey William Shaw QC, MLC, Attorney-General and Minister for Industrial Relations; Lea Drake, Deputy President Australian Industrial Relations Commission. LECTURES: Lectures held by Max Taylor, Barrister at Law and former President and General Secretary of NSW Teachers Federation; Paul MacMahon, Solicitor, MacMahon Drake and Balding; Wendy Thompson, Manager, Prosecutions Branch, WorkCover. SEMINARS: Seminars may be held to discuss Child sexual assault, Occupational health and safety, Discrimination, Defamation, Duty of care, Workers compensation, Victims compensation, Dealing with violence in the workplace, Unsatisfactory teachers, Unfair dismissal, Parental complaints, Industrial relations, Teachers rights, Government and Related Employees Appeals Tribunal (GREAT) both schools and TAFE, Employer charges, Copyrights and commercial activities in TAFE, Student discipline - schools and TAFE, Students rights, Other issues. REGISTRTION FEES: Members $50.00, Non-members $200.00. Registration fee offers you access to all lectures, all seminars, access to Federation Library on Friday, Reception on Friday evening, Morning and afternoon tea each day, Sandwiches and fruit platters provided for lunch on Saturday. Registration should be sent to the NSW Teachers Federation prior to September 22. CHILDCARE: Child-care will be available on application for Saturday only.
