Text at top of poster: For several years, the Federation has warned that the state government was hellbent on dismantling the statewide transfer and promotion system. Virginia Chadwick is determined to proceed. What should teachers do?"
Additional text on poster: DO: read the :"Manual of Staffing Advice Vol. One". HOLD A FEDERATION MEETING TO: oppose the Flexible Staffing plan; Insist that all vacancies be first filled by normal transfers; Discuss whether there are any genuine needs that require Special Fitness appointment. Special Fitness must be the exception rather than the rule. Insist that Special Fitness positions be filled by lateral appointment; Support industrial action at your school to enforce the "Manual of Staffing Advice Vol. One". SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN AND: keep your organiser informed; tell parents how students benefit form the statewide nature of the staffing operation; inform your principal, parents and cluster director of your determination. IF YOU ARE SEEKING TRANSFER OR PROMOTION: apply for a move as soon as possible; keep copies of all documentation.
Additional text on poster, continued: DON'T: deprive colleagues of transfer or promotion opportunities via Flexible Staffing or unnecessary Special Fitness; allow name changes for head teachers in 1992; be deprived of your right to apply for a move at any time; allow the creation of "exotic beasts".
