Text on poster: Trainee Teacher Scholarships. Do you know someone who could use financial assistance to train as a teacher? The NSW Teachers Federation is offering ten one-year Trainee Teacher Scholarships to the value of $2,000 each. The Teachers Federation will offer some scholarships to students from rural or remote areas distant from the tertiary institution they attend, students in their first year of teacher training and students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Other scholarships will be awarded on an unrestricted basis. Applicants will need to demonstrate their understanding of the value of public education and unions to society. You can contact the Teachers Federation on (02) 9217 21000 or 1300 654 369 for an application. The closing date for applications is March 5, 2003.
