General Note
Interview with Richard Raxworthy as part of the Federation's oral history project. Summary: Born in 1921 at Randwick. Attended Randwick Public and Sydney Girls High Schools. Speaks of her training at Sydney University and Sydney Teachers College and of her first teaching appointment at Murrumburra-Harden in 1943-47. Then sent to Murwillumbah for 4 years, until she married and retired, raising her family for 13 years. Returned to teaching at Dover Heights Girls High School for 20 years and was active in the Secondary and the Eastern Suburbs Teachers Associations, the latter of which she became President. She was particularly active in the DOGS Campaign, on which she also worked with the Eastern Suburbs P&C Association. Became a Life Member 1982.
This is one of ten interviews conducted by Richard Raxworthy on behalf of the Federation between 3.1.02 and 25.1.02. This interview took place 3.1.02.
