The Cooper Library was officially opened on 24 February 1922. The name was changed to Teachers Federation Library from 1941, by Decision of Annual Conference 1940. Photograph shows Teachers Federation Librarian Mary Schmidt at the circulation desk. At the time, the library was located on the 2nd floor, 300 Sussex Street, Sydney. The librarian is wearing a T-Shirt with slogan ‘ Librarians are novel lovers’, a 1978 Australian Library Association campaign.
