Summary Note
"Professor Moyle explores some challenges that the international community faces if it is to provide enough trained teachers, in classrooms around the world, to meet the UN commitment to provide every child with 12 years of education by 2030. She identifies and discusses trends in higher education that have relevance for initial teacher education; and comments on the characteristics of current practice and policies in high performing countries and cities, which may have lessons applicable in less successful settings. She concludes by proposing three broad, inter-related principles for recruiting teachers in the near future." - Back cover.
