General Note When republished in 2014, one introductory section, "How number talks support the Common Core State Standards for mathematics" was added and one table "Connections to NCTM's principles and standards for school mathematics", was replaced, by "Teaching with Common Core State Standards for mathematics: video clip connections". The sub-title was also changed. The new title is "Number talks: whole number computation". In addition, instead of on a CD, the accompanying video clips are now available via streaming.
