Title
Banner - Davidson High School : don't let him destroy.
Published
1988.
Collation
1 banner : col. ; 1120 mm high x 1550 mm long.
General Note
Collection code: Artworks.
The main figure of the banner is Terry Metherell, Minister responsible for Education in NSW 25.03.1988 until 20.07.1990. The banner was later overlaid with an image of the face of John Aquilina, Minister responsible for Education in NSW 04.04.1995 until 20.11.2001.
Included in archival box is canvas print of John Aquilina's face.
"It was created by the Art Department of Davidson High School and it got its first outing at the Domain rally in 88. Davidson High School was out 100% - which was significant as Terry Metherell was the local member and his electorate office was 100 metres from the school. I added the face of John Aquilina (hand stitched by me) some years later in another dispute as the banner was at my place as the organiser for Manly Warringah Teachers Association." John Dixon, December 2021.
