The mural is situated on Level 3 of Teachers Federation House, 23-33 Mary Street, Surry Hills. It is a collage of text and images, most of which were extracted from "Unity! Strength! Justice! 100 years of the NSW Teachers Federation", the exhibition catalogue released to mark the Federation's centenary in 2018. A column of images and text is dedicated to each decade of the Federation's existence. John Dixon, NSW Teachers Federation General Secretary, was responsible for the concept. Grace Hughes, graphic designer for the NSW Teachers Federation, was the designer of the artwork.

Summary Note This mural consists of a collage of images for each decade since the NSW Teachers Federation was founded in 1918. The extensive work, xx metres in length, is a visual representation of many key issues and campaigns, including the proposal to dismiss married women teachers from permanent employment in the Teaching Service 1931, equal pay for women teachers demonstration 1958, the first state wide teachers strike 1968, the Vietnam Moratorium march 1970, in which NSWTF members participated, the campaign to keep Dover Heights Boys High School in public hands 1982-1983, and, the momentous Day of Action in the Sydney Domain 1988.
The work immediately conveys to visitors to the 3rd floor the energy and commitment that the union brings to campaigning on education and social justice issues.
