Japanese plate.
Imari style plate, maker unknown. Features cobalt blue underglaze with red and gold decorative glazing. Central image on the plate depicts a house beside a river with distant mountains. Collection code: Artworks. Gift of the Japan Teachers Mutual Aid Society. Probable date of transfer to NSW Teachers Federation, 1990. Possibly transferred to library by NSW Retired Teachers Association, 1990, following visit from Mr. Yabuta, of the Japan Teachers Mutual Aid Society. - Education, vol. 71 No. 9, 16 July 1990, p. 25. Stored in custom wooden box, with Japanese calligraphy on lid.
