Reform and resistance in NSW public education : six attempts at major reforms, 1905-1995 / John Hughes with Paul Brock.
This book, written by two historians employed by the Department of Education and Training, reviews the following: 1. Reforms initiated by Peter Board (1905-1922); 2. The Wallace Report (1934) and its impact during the following decade; 3. Reforms initiated by the Wyndham Report, 1957; 4. The Vaughan reforms, 1974-1978; 5. The McGowan, 1981, and Swan-McKinnon, 1983, Reports; and 6. The Carrick and Scott Reports, 1989.
