It is designed in particular to support classroom teachers who may be unfamiliar with the needs of ESL learners new to learning English. The material is organised into sixteen units of work, and aims to provide material to support a classroom program. The units are designed to help teachers to teach the basic English that students will need to communicate simple wants and needs, and that will help them to participate in their new classroom environment. Includes bibiographical references. Summary: Beginning ESL is a practical resource for teachers of newly arrived English as a second language (ESL) learners.
